Three apps, one habit: write it down, get it done.
Tik8 is a family of small, single-purpose list apps. Each one does one job, and all three share the same promises: no account, built for one thumb, works offline. We created the brand, designed and built the apps, and run their store presence and website.
LiveTik8: Shared Grocery List
One grocery list the whole household edits at once — shared with a 6-character code, sorted by aisle, usable one-handed in the store.
LiveTik8 Goals
A yearly goal tracker with a “flag for today” — see at a glance whether you are ahead or behind, and the pace needed to catch up.
LaunchingTik8 To-Do
Lists first, plan when you are ready. Tasks collect in colored lists and get planned onto a day or a week in a few taps.
One mark, built to stretch across a family.
“Tik” is the checked box; “8” is a closed loop — together, continuous, shared. A leaf replaces the dot of the i as the only figurative element, and the 8 sits a tone lighter to carry the idea of togetherness.
The master brand runs on a single electric indigo. Each app then gets its own accent — fuchsia for Goals, volt for To-Do — while the wordmark, icon language and one-thumb interaction stay shared. A 43-page brand guide documents the system.
A grocery list the whole household writes together.
Designed for the moment it is actually used: standing in an aisle, one hand on the cart. Changes sync to everyone instantly, and people without the app can join from a link in the browser.
- Share with a 6-character code — no sign-up, email or password
- Real-time sync and push notifications when someone adds an item
- Items sort themselves by aisle, with a single-aisle filter
- Type “2 lb tomatoes” and the amount is parsed; add several items at once
- Works without signal and syncs when back online
- Tik8 Plus subscription for unlimited shared lists and household pairing
A year, measured honestly.
Write a goal the way you would say it — “Read 24 books”, “Save $5,000” — and it becomes measurable. A pace bar with a marker for today shows whether you are ahead or behind, without streaks or guilt.
- Four goal types: add up, reach, routine, finish with steps
- One-tap logging, long-press for a past day, every entry undoable
- Milestones at 25/50/75% and a one-time completion celebration
- A weekly review and a “welcome back” card after time away
- Plan next year from December and carry goals over
- Shareable year and goal cards; data stays on the device
Lists first. A plan only when you want one.
To-Do deliberately looks different from its siblings — volt on graphite, light and dark themes — while keeping the family’s interaction model. Tasks live in undated lists and get pulled into a day or a week when you decide.
- Colored lists for work, home, that trip
- Natural-language input for day, time, length and list in 6 languages
- An optional timeline: add a time and the task joins your day
- Week view to decide what gets done, then fit it into days
- Swipe gestures, drag-and-drop reordering and undo
- No account, no ads — tasks stay on the phone
One monorepo, three apps, zero drift.
All three apps ship from a single TypeScript monorepo on Expo and React Native. Shared packages hold the design tokens, components, list engine and translations, so a fix or a new pattern lands in every app at once.
- Local-first storage with SQLite in every app
- Supabase with row-level security and real-time sync for shared grocery lists
- RevenueCat subscriptions and consent-gated AdMob and Firebase Analytics
- Automated checks: no hard-coded design values, WCAG AA contrast, locale parity
- 6 languages per app, checked against the source locale on every build
- Separate brand accents per app from one token system
Screenshots rendered from the product itself.
Store screenshots for every app and language are rendered straight from the apps’ own tokens, strings and logic — so the App Store always matches the product. tik8.app introduces the family, routes visitors to the right store, and opens shared grocery lists in the browser.
